Sleek, sculpted and precise - the Ampera features Vauxhall's award-winning design language - plus a dramatic splash of the Flextreme and GTC Concept show cars. In the front, the dramatic, boomerang-like headlights instantly catch the eye, flowing seamlessly into the lower fog lights.

The car has a dynamic, almost aggressive low stance. The bold new Vauxhall logo is emblazoned on the front grill and the chrome bar across the back. The unique Pearl White Diamond colour with matching rocker panels and rear bumper underline the dynamic look of the Ampera.

Sleek aerodynamics help maximise the driving range and lower emissions. Engineers and designers have worked hand in hand to ensure a maximum of aerodynamic efficiency, so the airflow around the front fascia and outside mirrors has been optimised. Vertical slots in the outboard edges of the rear bumper give the car a low sporty look and support its highly efficient aerodynamic performance by creating a clean separation feature for the air.

Lightweight materials have been used throughout:
such as the clear polycarbonate covers on the front grille and the disk inserts on the 17-inch, five-spoke sport alloy wheels.
This also helps to reduce aerodynamic drag in critical airflow areas.

Vauxhall announce Ampera pricing Looking forward to the future of Fleet, Vauxhall is pleased to announce pricing for the revolutionary Ampera Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (E-REV). By taking advantage of the £5,000 Plug-In Car Grant Ampera will be available with a P11D price of just £28,940 when it hits showrooms in early 2012, bringing the reality of a technically sophisticated, electrically driven car with an uncompromised driving range firmly into the mainstream.And it's not just the price that's impressive; Ampera is eligible for £0 first year and standard rate VED and falls into the 5% banding for Benefit-in-Kind tax^*2. With up to 50 miles battery electric driven range, more than enough for the average commute, there are zero tailpipe CO₂ emissions when running on pure battery power. Furthermore there is no London congestion charge. Running costs will also be extremely low as a full charge of the battery takes less than 4 hours and costs on average £1. Vauxhall Ampera is unique in the market as the only real-world electric car solution. There are a number of operating modes for maximising performance and the range- extender allows for up to 310 miles driving when a longer journey is required, before recharging or refuelling the car.
